In memorandum - we bid ‘Adieu’ to Luc Bourdon
May 29th, 2008 by thewordbirdIn a forlorn twist of fate, Canucks’ defenseman Luc Bourdon was tragically killed today outside of his hometown of Shippigan, New Brunswick.
Bourdon, just 21 years of age, was an aspiring musician, former 1st round NHL draft pick (10th overall), Manitoba Moose/Canucks’ player professionally and enjoyed a fine QMJHL career in Val D’Or, Moncton and Cape Breton.
In initial reports, Luc had bought a motorcycle recently and lost control of it at roughly 12 pm EST, careening headlong into a semi-truck trailer. High winds are being reported as a factor and I’m sure you are with me in the hope that his passing was both terse and painless.
My heart and thoughts go out to those close to him.

My heart is saddened at this time with the passing of Luc I watched him play with the
Canucks and he showed so much protencial and
I know he would be a great asset to the club in future years. My heart goes out to his family, friends and team mates he will also be missed by all his fans, but I’m sure he’ll start his own team in Heaven God bless you Luc.
