Larionov, soap operas and glass art?

July 21st, 2008 by thewordbird

Canuck fans would probably like to note that former Vancouver playmaker and Stanley Cup winner Igor Larionov has signed on to be the Director of Hockey Operations with SKA St. Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), competing in the Tarasov Division.
The 47-year-old is adding to his illustrious career and I wish him well. Tough divisional play - does Dave King not coach Mettalurg Magnitogorsk? Another credibility boost for the KHL.

I will keep you informed of any substancial and credible information on the Mats Sundin saga.

Canuck fans may also note that I run into a merchant every once in a while that sells glass art. Rob Lepine is at swap meets and hospitals regularily and who ever knows where else. He is a talent and sells his products out of home I believe and is a devoted Canucks fan. Lepines’ necklaces, earrings, pot placements and other fused glass products are often done in the colour schemes of the Vancouver NHL franchise. You can contact him at rllepine@shaw.ca or (604) 575-6850. He is based in Cloverdale, British Columbia - Wet Coast Glassics.

He hasn’t coached it for a while now. I suggest reading his book “King of Russia”. One of the best hockey reads for me.

Thanks Marco. I will, I have never even heard of that and am always up for a good read.
